HR Manager
Contract Type:  Permanent
Job Location:  Belgium - Zaventem

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and business-focused HR Manager to lead HR operations in Belgium, ensuring seamless execution of HR activities while aligning with the strategic objectives of the organization. This position requires a candidate with strong operational HR expertise, a data-driven approach, and the ability to confidently collaborate with senior leadership teams.

 The ideal candidate will be adept at managing HR processes, ensuring compliance, and aligning HR solutions with business priorities, as well as having a hands-on approach capable of translating regional strategic initiatives into actionable local plans.

 

You will make an impact by….

HR Operations Management:

  • Ensure smooth execution of key operational HR processes such as payroll, recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, and benefits administration.
  • Maintain compliance with Belgian labor law and be engaging with the workers council in Belgium.
  • Guarantee accuracy and timeliness in payroll administration and adapt to evolving regulatory changes.

Recruitment & Talent Management:

  • Lead recruitment efforts to attract and retain high-performing talent, ensuring a seamless candidate experience.
  • Support managers in talent development plans, onboarding, and other retention strategies.
  • Create a positive company culture by fostering employee engagement initiatives. 

Employee Engagement & Benefits:

  • Enhance employee experience with robust onboarding processes and engaging internal communication strategies.
  • Manage and optimize company benefits programs, ensuring alignment with employee needs and market trends.

Employee Development and Relationship Management:

  • Drive learning and development initiatives by identifying skill gaps, implementing training programs and supporting employees in their professional growth and career progression.
  • Foster strong employee relationships by acting as a trusted advisor, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive, collaborative, and inclusive workplace culture.

Collaboration with leadership:

  • Actively partner with local senior leaders on HR priorities, providing insights, recommendations, and data-driven solutions that align with the company’s objectives.
  • Act as a confident business partner who bridges the gap between HR operations and corporate strategy.

Legislation & Compliance:

  • Act as the company expert on Belgian employment law, advising management on statutory changes and addressing local compliance issues proactively.
  • Ensure any legal obligations vis-à-vis the workers council are met and managed professionally.

 

The talent we want to inspire has... 

Skills and experience:

  • Native Dutch language skills or full bilingual proficiency working fluency in French and English.
  • Proven experience in payroll administration, recruitment, HR operations, workers councils, Belgian labor law, benefits management and on/offboarding processes.
  • A can-do attitude paired with positive, proactive energy. Confident in engaging with senior leadership teams and aligning HR practices with organizational goals.
  • A business leader who understands and aligns HR strategies with broader organizational objectives. Able to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
  • Strong understanding of Belgian labor laws and employment legislation.
  • Previous experience in a role interacting directly with local senior leadership and business stakeholders is preferred.
  • Proficiency in HR software systems such as SAP, Success Factors, SDworx and Protime is advantageous.
  • Prior experience of working in an international company is highly valued.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in an HR Management or Senior operational HR role.
