Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineer
Shape the Future of Airside Operations with ADB SAFEGATE
At ADB SAFEGATE, we’re committed to optimizing airside operations from approach to take-off. Our Apron solutions help airports minimize risks and keep operations predictable—enabling faster aircraft turnarounds, greater safety, and smarter decision-making.
The Opportunity
Are you ready to drive the next evolution in airport technology? Join our team and make a tangible impact on the future of aviation. With more than 1,400 colleagues in 48+ offices, we partner with 2,500+ airports worldwide—including 47 of the 50 busiest. As air traffic doubles every 15 years, your work will help airports meet growing capacity challenges with innovative, reliable solutions.
You will make an impact by…
-
Taking end-to-end ownership of electromechanical solutions, from requirements and concept through detailed design, verification and industrialization to release into production.
-
Creating 3D models and detailed production drawings in SolidWorks.
-
Designing mechanical parts, enclosures, cable solutions and interfaces for electrical and embedded components.
-
Building, modifying and troubleshooting prototypes, including mechanical assembly, cabling, connector assembly, electrical measurements and functional testing.
-
Performing electrical calculations, including power consumption, current loads, voltage drop and cable sizing.
-
Managing technical documentation, BOM/design updates and engineering changes in collaboration with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
-
Driving alignment between production and suppliers to ensure designs meet electromechanical requirements, and owning product certification activities (e.g. CE, EMC) and standards compliance
-
Designing robust electromechanical hardware for harsh/outdoor environments, considering sealing, IP-rating, resistance to temperature, vibration, and moisture
The talent we want to inspire has...
-
A BSc or MSc in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
-
At least three years of experience in mechatronic, electromechanical or mechanical product development.
-
Strong SolidWorks skills, including 3D modelling and production drawings.
-
Experience with AutoCAD or similar engineering tools.
-
A good understanding of electrical systems, including wiring and connectors
-
The ability to read electrical schematics and systematically troubleshoot electromechanical systems.
-
A hands-on approach and experience assembling, modifying and testing prototypes.
-
Fluent communication skills in English and Swedish.
-
A proactive, structured and collaborative approach with strong problem-solving skills.
-
Required qualifications for harsh-environment design experience (IP-rated enclosures, thermal/vibration considerations) and familiarity with certification processes and staying current on industry/regulatory standards.
This would be a plus but not a must!
-
Experience with product development methodologies and concept evaluation.
-
Skills in mechanical or thermal simulation, such as stress analysis or heat transfer.
-
Experience collaborating with suppliers and other external stakeholders.
