Smarter, Better, Now.
ADB SAFEGATE leads the world in smart solutions that help airports handle more aircraft, safely and efficiently, from approach to departure. Our products and services range from runway and taxiway lighting, to tower-based traffic control systems, to intelligent gate and docking automation.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Computer Vision Engineer to join our Apron R&D team in Malmö. If you are passionate about cutting-edge technology and want to shape the future of airport operations, we want to hear from you.
You will make an impact by…
- Designing, developing, and implementing computer vision and deep learning models for tasks such as image/video classification, object detection, segmentation, tracking, OCR, and action recognition.
- Building and optimizing data pipelines for image/video ingestion, annotation, augmentation, model training, evaluation, and inference.
- Developing and optimizing models for near-real-time execution across cloud, data-center, and edge platforms (including NVIDIA).
- Integrating model events, confidence, timestamps, and health status into operator monitoring workflows.
- Managing challenges such as false positives, missed detections, model drift, and changing weather, lighting, or camera conditions.
- Deploying, monitoring, and maintaining CV models in production environments, ensuring scalability and robustness.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (domain experts, software engineers, verification, and MLOps) to collect requirements, define use cases, and deliver end-to-end CV solutions.
- Evaluating and integrating state-of-the-art research, open-source libraries, and pre-trained models into production pipelines.
- Applying model optimization techniques for real-time inference and efficient deployment on cloud or edge devices.
- Conducting experiments, analyzing results, and iterating to improve model accuracy and performance.
- Contributing to code reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Staying updated with the latest advancements in computer vision and AI, and proposing innovative solutions to complex problems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of production experience in computer vision or deep learning.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
- Deep experience with OpenCV and at least one of the following: detection, segmentation, tracking, OCR, or video analytics.
- Experience with data preparation, model evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and MLOps.
-
Experience with real-time, multi-camera, edge, NVIDIA, or mission-critical systems is preferred.
The talent we want to inspire has...
- Strong analytical and experimental mindset.
- A clear understanding of the operational impact of false or missed alerts in mission-critical systems.
- The ability to communicate model confidence, limitations, and trade-offs with stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- A disciplined approach to reproducibility and documentation.
- Ownership and accountability from experimentation through to production operation.
This would be a plus but not a must!
- Experience with video analytics in aviation, transport, or industrial sectors.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and microservice architectures.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for AI models.
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and edge deployment.
