The Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Electrical Component Engineer to join our team in Hyderabad, India. In this key role, you will ensure the continuity and quality of electrical components for manufacturing, proactively manage lifecycle risks, and support our engineering teams with technical expertise in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The Role

• BOM Risk Review: Analyze Bills of Material (BOMs) to identify risks such as part obsolescence, sole sourcing, long lead times, and limited availability.
• Component Availability Assurance: Monitor and manage the supply continuity of electrical components required for manufacturing.
• Alternate Component Identification: Proactively research and recommend suitable alternative components when risks or supply issues are identified.
• Specification Analysis: Evaluate technical specifications to ensure that alternate components meet performance, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Lifecycle Management with SiliconExpert: Use SiliconExpert for both reactive (issue-driven) and proactive (ongoing monitoring) review of component lifecycle status, obsolescence risk, and supply chain trends.
• Supplier Liaison: Communicate with component suppliers (distributors and manufacturers) to gather information on component status, alternatives, and lead times.
• Documentation Creation & Updates: Prepare and maintain documentation related to component selection, alternates, and approvals.
• Altium Library Maintenance: Create, update, and manage component data in the Altium Designer component libraries to ensure accuracy and availability.

We’re Looking For Someone With

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; able to scrutinize BOMs, specifications, and market data for potential risks and solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical and electronic components, Altium Designer, SiliconExpert, and industry standards.
• Resourcefulness in identifying and qualifying alternate components under strict constraints.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly document findings and present recommendations to diverse teams.
• Strong organizational skills; efficient at managing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, maintaining component library governance, and proactively addressing lifecycle risks.

• Library Governance: Establish and enforce governance processes for the Altium component library, including standardization, review, and approval workflows.
• Change Management & Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to implement changes and ensure smooth transitions.
