Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Role Summary:
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This includes preparing cost estimates, tender documentation, value engineering, contract administration, and monitoring project costs to ensure delivery within budget and compliance with contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
- Develop, review, and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and tender documents.
- Measure and value completed work and prepare interim and final payment applications.
- Monitor project costs, manage variations, and analyse cost impacts of changes.
- Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate claims for additional costs or time.
- Administer contracts and subcontracts, including reviewing and agreeing on payment applications and final accounts.
- Support procurement processes and evaluate supplier/subcontractor bids.
- Maintain accurate project records and commercial documentation.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure effective cost control.
- Provide regular cost reports and commercial advice to management.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 5 years’ experience as a quantity surveyor, preferably in construction/infrastructure/aviation.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, JCT, NEC).
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficient in cost control, measurement, and contract administration.
- Good negotiation, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite.
