The opportunity

 

The Design Technician generates different types of engineering drawings (top views, side views, layouts, installation/construction details, wiring schematics, etc.) with oversight* of the Designers. The drawings created by the Design Technician are of any level of detail, from initial conceptual drawings to as-built construction drawings, and are generated during bidding or pre-bidding stage, during project realizations, as-builts or for the Design & Consulting drawings library.

The Design Technician follows strictly the internal drawing procedures, libraries and quality standards and makes use of the variety of internal drawing design tools available, while also proactively proposing improvements.

* Oversight: Designer sets the initial parameters and requirements for the drawings and periodically checks in on the progress.

 

Key responsibilities/Expectations/What does the role have to deliver

  • Effectively communicating with internal stakeholders.
  • Accurately estimating the time required to complete assigned tasks and effectively managing one's own workload.
  • With oversight from a Designer, create installation detail drawings of ADB Safegate products adapted to the specific project requirements.
  • With oversight from a Designer, create typical installation detail drawings of ADB Safegate products for the department’s library and/or to be published on the ADB Safegate website.
  • With oversight from a Designer, create airfield layout drawings for airfield lighting, signs, marking, ducts, pits and cabling.
  • With oversight from a Designer, create AVDGS top view, side view and front view drawings.
  • With oversight from a Designer, create electrical wiring schematic drawings for VDGS installations, airfield electrical substations and control and monitoring systems.
  • With oversight from a Designer, create structural and fit-out drawings for airside manholes, duct banks and pits.
  • With oversight from a Designer, produce airside layout drawings for integration into ADB Safegate Airside systems (Apron Management, ALCMS or ICWP).
  • Propose improvements to internal drawing procedures, standards, libraries and tools.
  • Export and cleanse data from drawings to provide Designers with cable and duct lengths and item quantities per type/model.
  • Export and import ILCMS segmentation data to/from drawings.
  • Adhere to the Autodesk Vault procedures ensuring all files created or received are correctly stored and set-up.
  • Prepare hardcopies of project drawings, plotted and folder in A4 binders.

 

Qualifications

  • Generally, with CAD Professional certification, degree in architecture or similar qualifications.
  • Basic understanding of project processes.
  • Basic understanding of ADB Safegate’s full portfolio (products, systems and services).
  • Autodesk AutoCAD advanced level.
  • Autodesk Vault intermediate level.
  • Autodesk Revit beginner level.
  • MS Office and MS Teams intermediate level.
  • Airfield marking, airfield lighting, airfield signage, heliport lighting and VDGS intermediate level.
  • Basic knowledge of international and local aviation regulations, including ICAO standards and recommended practices and guidance manuals.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
